Deep into the green colour! From South to North the Balkan area is a palette full of different shades of green. Starting from Shkoder lake of karstic nature where Moraca and Zeta rivers flow. Along Moraca river you can enjoy one of the several canyons in Montenegro 22 km long and 1.100 meters deep. Then Biogradaska gora National Park one of the three European virgin forests, therefore strictly protected: you can admire conifers taller then 45 meters and older than 400 years. On the way to the North the next stop is at Durmitor National Park famous for Tara canyon. Tara river is called “European tear” and is the longest Montenegrian river (141 km) cutting into the rocks the biggest European canyon (deep 1.300 m, long 80 km) and the second canyon in the world after Gran Canyon in Arizona. The unique biosphere of the park has been declared World Natural Heritage since 1980. Crossing the Bosnian border you direct to Joharina, famous for the 1984 Winter Olympics, in fact iso ne of the biggest ski center of Balkan (40 km of ski tracks). You continue arriving at Hutovo Blato National Park, one of the richest wetland reserve of Europe.
